Do you service Charlevoix year-round or only during certain seasons?

I own a cottage on Lake Charlevoix and am not local. How do you handle service for absentee property owners?

We work with out-of-area owners frequently in the Charlevoix area. You can authorize work and receive updates by phone or email without being on-site. We document the job with photos and follow up after completion so you have a clear record of what was done and what, if anything, needs attention before your next visit.

My lakefront home has more corrosion and wear on outdoor equipment than my other properties. Is that normal? 

Yes. Properties near Lake Michigan, Round Lake, and Lake Charlevoix see higher humidity, stronger wind exposure, and more salt-air influence than inland homes. Outdoor HVAC components corrode faster in these conditions and benefit from more frequent inspection. We factor this in when we service lakefront properties and flag components that are degrading faster than they would in a typical Northern Michigan home.

The home I bought near downtown Charlevoix has an old boiler. Can you service it or will I be pushed toward replacing it?

We service older boiler systems including cast iron boilers and hydronic baseboard heat. Our technicians assess what the system actually needs and give you an honest answer about whether a repair is the right move or whether the system is genuinely at the end of its useful life. We do not recommend replacement as a default.

Does my Charlevoix rental property need a service visit before summer season?

It is a good idea. After a property sits through winter, the most common issues we find are water heater failure from extended disuse, problems with pipes that were not fully winterized, and AC systems that need a check before they run hard through a summer rental season. Catching those before your guests arrive saves you significantly compared to an emergency call in July.

Had a spigot go bad at my house and the very friendly receptionist at Quality Plumbing and Heating scheduled an appointment for the next day, but then called soon after and said they could come out the very same day, which was great. Technician Tim came out and quickly assessed the situation and repaired within the hour. Very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, as with each experience we've had with Quality Plumbing & Heating. Been in Gaylord almost 15 years and have had other plumbing and heating companies come out here - some okay...and some not okay. A few years ago, I was told by a representative of another plumbing and heating company north of Gaylord who told me Quality is the best.
