How fast can you get to my home for a plumbing emergency?
 Response time depends on your location within our service area and technician availability at the time of your call. For active emergencies like burst pipes or flooding, we dispatch as quickly as possible. Calling directly at (989) 778-9270 gives us the fastest way to assess the situation and get someone moving toward you.

What should I do right now while I wait for the plumber?
 Shut off the main water supply to stop active water damage from getting worse. If the issue involves a sewer backup, avoid using any fixtures, toilets, or drains in the home. If there is any possibility of a gas line involvement, leave the property and call the gas company before calling us. Do not attempt to repair burst pipes yourself while water is actively flowing.

My pipe burst in a wall and I do not know where the main shutoff is. What do I do?
 The main shutoff is typically located in the basement near where the water line enters the home, in a utility room, or near the water meter. If you cannot find it quickly, the curb stop shutoff is located outside near the street and can be turned off with a water key. If you have neither accessible, call us immediately and keep the affected room clear to minimize damage while you wait.

Do you cover emergency calls across all of Northern Michigan or only Gaylord?
 We respond to emergency calls throughout our full service area including Gaylord, Petoskey, Charlevoix, Boyne City, Grayling, Mancelona, and surrounding communities. Response time increases with distance from Gaylord, but we do not limit emergency service to one area.

Will my insurance cover emergency plumbing repairs?
 Homeowner’s insurance often covers sudden and accidental damage from burst pipes or plumbing failures, but typically does not cover damage from slow leaks or deferred maintenance. Document the damage with photos before any cleanup begins. We can provide an invoice and written description of the failure that your insurance adjuster will need.

Can you handle both the emergency repair and any water damage on the same visit?
 We stabilize and repair the plumbing failure on the same visit. Water damage remediation such as drying out walls, flooring, or structural materials is a separate trade and we recommend contacting a licensed restoration company for that portion. Getting the plumbing fixed first is the right starting point so the damage does not continue while restoration happens.

Had a spigot go bad at my house and the very friendly receptionist at Quality Plumbing and Heating scheduled an appointment for the next day, but then called soon after and said they could come out the very same day, which was great. Technician Tim came out and quickly assessed the situation and repaired within the hour. Very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly, as with each experience we've had with Quality Plumbing & Heating. Been in Gaylord almost 15 years and have had other plumbing and heating companies come out here - some okay...and some not okay. A few years ago, I was told by a representative of another plumbing and heating company north of Gaylord who told me Quality is the best. I found a leak under my kitchen sink. The technician was here in less than 2 hours. He replaced the pipe and pro actively replaced something that would have been a problem in the near future. I used Quality Comfort Pros in March when the toilet in my bathroom was flushing directly into my crawl space. Bob and Gavin were sent out same day and stayed after hours to unclog my pipes. Then at the end of May, my kitchen faucet started leaking into the cabinets below. I called on Quality Comfort Pros again, and this time they sent out Tim. Because I have a MOEN faucet there is a lifetime warranty. I reordered the faucet, and decided to replace the toilet that leaked into my crawl space. At the end of June, they sent out Gavin (again), and he replaced my faucet and toilet. These guys are top notch! They are professional, and prompt. Jen in the office was extremely helpful throughout all of this, as was JD the owner. I can’t say enough good things about these folks. I 100%, wholeheartedly, and unconditionally recommend Quality Comfort Pros. You can’t go wrong with them.

5/5 stars – Let me preface my review with I am a single gal and when I had a waterfall in my basement I was panicked and had no clue what to do!!! I stopped at the Quality Comfort Pros office, (at 5 minutes before closing I might add), where I was greeted by Garry whom immediately listened to my dilemma. Then to take it step further, got in his truck and followed me to my home to access the situation. Garry offered comfort when he told me it was very fixable and has seen the problem multiple times before. I was greeted by Tim first thing the next morning where he promptly fixed the problem in just a couple hours!! He didn’t even mind my obnoxious dogs! Will definitely be using them to fix other problems before they too, become basement water features!! Ollie, the office pup was just pure bonus!
